Update - Situation in the Middle East (Wed. 4 March)

Group 1 min read

Dear colleagues,

Following our previous update, we would like to share how we are currently managing the situation across the Middle East region.

At this stage, there are no incidents to report, and our people are safe.

Colleagues are generally at work, either on site or in the office. We believe that maintaining a work routine and a professional environment can provide stability and focus, and based on our current assessments, this does not represent an increased safety risk. At the same time, heads of department and project managers continue to exercise judgement in the best interest of their teams. Where individual circumstances require flexibility or support, arrangements are made.

From an operational perspective, we have taken targeted precautionary measures. Activities in Sohar have been temporarily halted as a precaution following an increased target on energy assets. Across the region, our sites remain calm and closely monitored.

At Group level, we continue to assess all scenarios carefully. A dedicated subgroup of the Executive Committee is permanently reviewing preparedness and contingency options.

We are aware of recent public statements by various Ministries of Foreign Affairs regarding evacuation measures. These statements relate primarily to tourists currently stranded in the Gulf region, rather than to corporate operations. However, our management remains in close contact with the different embassies.

As always, the safety and wellbeing of our people remain our highest priority. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will share further updates when there is meaningful new information to report.
