1. Johan Beerlandt and Gabriel Üzgen as guest speakers at the latest Brussels Investors Forum (Belgium)
Last Wednesday, architects, investors, developers and bankers active in the European Real Estate sector gathered in Brussels (in the built-by-BESIX HQ of BNP Paribas) for a full afternoon of in-depth discussions about property investment in 2023, its challenges and opportunities.
Gabriel Üzgen, CEO of BESIX RED, introduced the event, explored and discussed the prospects and trends for the real estate market; while at the end of the programme, Johan Beerlandt, Executive Vice-Chairman, was invited to share his learnings about his 45+ years of career.
2. When the BESIX Young Community meets the boss (Belgium)
Back in October 2022, the BESIX Young Community held their first BYC Party since the Covid 19 pandemic. During the party, a ‘get-to-know-each-other’ game was organised and of course, there were also some prizes to give away. One of the prizes was a ‘meet & greet’ lunch with BESIX Group’s CEO, Pierre Sironval. Last week, the time had finally come for 10 of our young colleagues to claim their prize and enjoy lunch together at the BESIX Academy. From strategy to sustainability, from work-life balance to career advice, many topics were tackled during this lunch.
The BESIX Young Community, or BYC, brings together BESIX employees under the age of 36, in particular through the organisation of activities aimed at creating a network and a community. Such Communities exist in several countries where the Group is active.
3. Beyoncé parties at the Royal Atlantis (Dubai, UAE)
The ultra-famous American singer-songwriter Beyoncé was the star of the night last Saturday in Dubai. She performed during an exclusive concert to officially launch the grand reveal of the Royal Atlantis luxury resort.
Spanning 63 hectares and housing 795 rooms and suites, countless hospitality venues and no less than 90 swimming pools, the resort’s opening has been anticipated for years. BESIX is proud to have built this new iconic landmark of Dubai!

4. Amazing milestone under police escort (Australia)
Last week our colleagues on the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge, Brisbane, have reached another milestone together with their partner on the project, the Italian contractor Rizzani de Eccher: the installation of the first two modules steel deck. A 450 mobile crane was used during the operation that took place at night, from 2AM to 6AM. Even the local police was present to accompany the special convoy! Well done!
