1. A more inclusive workplace? We’re making it happen (The Netherlands)
A successful project is about more than engineering. It’s also about who gets the chance to contribute. Our colleagues at BESIX Infra Nederland are opening doors to their sector for people who may have taken a different path. This includes career changers, people receiving benefits and students who work while they study. Specially designed programmes let participants explore the profession, then progress to an internship and, ultimately, a job. These efforts have earned well-deserved recognition: BESIX Infra Nederland has officially achieved Level 3 on the Performance Ladder for Social Entrepreneurship (PSO). It’s a proud achievement and an encouraging reason to keep building a labour market where more people can participate. Congratulations to everyone helping make the sector more inclusive!
2. Meeting the next generation of UAE talent at Ru’ya (UAE)
A career can begin with a conversation. At the Ru’ya Exhibition, our Six Construct colleagues are meeting UAE National students and graduates who are exploring where construction and engineering could take them next. From internships to graduate roles and wider career opportunities, the event creates a direct connection between young talent and colleagues already working across our business. At our booth, visitors can ask questions, share their ambitions and, who knows, perhaps take their first step into the industry. For our colleagues, it is also a chance to share what makes a career in construction rewarding and show just how varied those careers can be. Thank you to the colleagues representing Six Construct and taking the time to share their enthusiasm.
3. Ghent cyclists gain 10 km of safer connections (Belgium)
Ten kilometres of asphalt may just look like a line on a map. For cyclists around Ghent, however, the new cycle highway along the R4 East means something much more tangible: safer, smoother connections between residential areas, business zones and the port. New cycle bridges and underpasses allow cyclists to cross the R4 without coming into conflict with other traffic. The images show a visible part of R4WO, the major redevelopment of Ghent's ring road that puts road safety, traffic flow and quality of life for every road user at its heart. A great milestone, and a well-deserved congratulations to all the teams who helped make it happen.
4. Running together for something bigger (Australia)
The race itself wasn’t the main thing. What mattered was showing up and taking part! At this year’s City-Bay Fun Run, our BESIX Watpac colleagues came together for a day of movement, team spirit and support for a cause close to the construction industry: mental health and wellbeing. Congratulations to everyone who took part, donated or cheered on our sporty colleagues.
