Remarkable progress at Tour Triangle

Group Me@FrankiFoundations 1 min read

In the south of Paris, our colleagues of BESIX France are currently constructing Triangle, an 180-metre high tower distinguished by its triangular design. Conceived by the renowned architectural firm Herzog & De Meuron, this iconic tower will encompass a Radisson Blu hotel on levels 13 to 18, a daycare center, health facility, cultural center, shops, offices, shared workspaces, a belvedere with panoramic elevators and a restaurant.

The project is progressing through close collaboration among various teams, including our colleagues at Franki Foundations and their French branch Atlas Fondations handling the foundations, our in-house engineering office BED overseeing the design and definition of working methods, and our operations colleagues on-site in Paris.

Throughout 2023, the teams made notable strides on the site of Triangle, specifically on the sustainability front. The tower is designed to comply with BREEAM Excellent and HQE Exceptional environmental certifications, along with the Effinergie label. In this regard, the team celebrated a number of significant accomplishments last year, such as the realisation of a spacious 2,000 m² bicycle parking facility with a capacity of 1,000 bikes. Additionally, geothermal wells were implemented which will cover approximately 20 % of the building's thermal needs.

Concurrently, the teams have taken measures to reduce their ecological footprint. For example, they have transported around 30 % of the excavated earth via waterways and are using CEM III concrete, resulting in emissions 30 % lower than those associated with traditional concrete.

2024 promises to be full of invigorating hustle and bustle for the project team at Triangle. With the first of 8,900 façade panels installed just before the end of last year, the bioclimatic façade will further take shape in the coming months. These innovative double-skin façade blocks are constructed from 62 % recycled aluminum and are designed to block up to 90 % of solar heat. Additionally, the installation of photovoltaic panels will illuminate approximately 25,000 m² of office space with clean energy.

Stay tuned for more updates on the exciting developments taking place at Triangle—a true Parisian destination in the making.
