BESIX, including Franki Foundations Belgium, BESIX Environment, BESIX Infra, and BESIX Unitec, proudly announces the successful completion of the annual external CO2 Performance Ladder audit in Belgium and the Netherlands. The audit, which was conducted over a period of four days, concluded positively last week at BESIX Connect (subsidiary of BESIX Unitec).
The CO2 Performance Ladder is a certification system that encourages companies to actively reduce their carbon footprint. This system offers a rigorous evaluation of a company's CO2 management system across five different levels, with Level 5 representing the pinnacle of CO2 awareness and active reduction strategies both within the supply chain and sector.
The comprehensive audit involved a meticulous review of the CO2 management systems at BESIX and its associated companies including the De Nieuwe Meer intersection and the A27 highway upgrade between Houten and Everdingen in the Netherlands and the sub-project that BESIX, as part of the ROCO consortium, is realising for the Oosterweel link in Belgium , by external auditor KIWA.
The audit concluded with no identified shortcomings and confirmed that BESIX, Franki Foundations Belgium, BESIX Infra, and BESIX Unitec will retain the prestigious Level 5 certification on the CO2 Performance Ladder, awarded in 2022.
Achieving and maintaining Level 5 certification underscores the group's commitment to environmental stewardship and validates its ongoing efforts towards sustainable operations. BESIX Group remains dedicated to upholding these high standards and will continue to actively contribute to a sustainable future.
