Dear colleagues,
In view of the imminent retirement of Frédéric de Schrevel from full employment at the end of this year, we have decided the following new organization:
Marc Duvieusart is appointed General Counsel
Marc, who was Deputy General Counsel since 2015, will take upon Frédéric de Schrevel's responsibilities in leading and ensuring efficient and effective management of the Legal & Contract teams all over the Group. As such, Marc will conduct and coordinate the Legal & Contract team's actions to secure notably that, for all topics that relate to our business and operations, from (pre-)tender onwards, a proper legal and contractual due diligence exercise is undertaken to enhance decision-making, claim management and completion of our projects.
Nathalie Dewell is appointed Director Risk and Insurance
Nathalie, who was Insurance Manager since 2017, will further lead and coordinate the risk and insurance management of the Group as well as the Risk Management Competence Centre, the insurance team and the relations with brokers and underwriters in the Group. As such, Nathalie will ensure that proper and optimal risk assessment and transfer to insurance is part of the project management from (pre-) tender onwards.
Fabian Boucher is appointed Director Engineering and BPS
Fabian Boucher, in addition to his responsibilities of Director Engineering, will take a new function, that continues Frédéric de Schrevel’s duties and responsibilities in the BESIX Contracting BPS and IMs support, all with a view on strong monitoring and contribution to our Group operational excellence.
Frédéric de Schrevel will remain in charge up to the end of this year 2021 and manage this transition of our Group centers of competence with Nathalie, Marc and Fabian.
Going forward, as from 1 January 2022:
- for the Legal & Contract teams, Marc Duvieusart will report to Pierre Sironval, Deputy CEO;
- for the Risk & Insurance teams, Nathalie Dewell will report to Hans Beerlandt, Head of Finance; and
- for the BPS teams in charge of IMs, Archives, Documents, Information, and Knowledge Management, Fabian Boucher will report to Pierre Sironval, Deputy CEO.
Frédéric de Schrevel remains Secretary General as from 1 January 2022 to assist me and Pierre Sironval for strategic and operational advice and missions, including for complex contract negotiations, claims and litigations and for corporate housekeeping. Frédéric will also remain in support for producing our next Group C&S report before year end.
Frédéric has been an important member of our Executive Team for 15 years and has made a significant contribution to our business. He has transformed our thinking on legal and contractual risk and opportunities management, governance and policies management and corporate responsibility. Frédéric has also been a driving force in making sustainability a core pillar in our global strategy. We are convinced that Marc, Nathalie and Fabian, with their experience gathered both inside and outside BESIX, are the ideal persons to grow further on Frédéric's legacy and strengthen further the central centers of competence that are Legal & Contract, Risk & Insurance and BPS.
We trust that you all will further collaborate with our concerned colleagues and their teams on which our senior management rely for effective and central support and monitoring in those key disciplines.
The whole Executive Committee will also support, boost and monitor the transition and upcoming organization.
