1. Rail Baltica Central Station takes shape in Riga (Latvia)

In Riga, the BERERIX team is making steady progress on the Rail Baltica Central Station. Façade and roof glazing works are now under way, with the first glass panels also being installed in the passenger canopies above the platforms. With a total glazing area of 1,500 m², the station building is gradually taking on its intended architectural shape. Construction is moving according to plan, with major works set to be completed by the end of August 2026, while train traffic is expected to fully use the southern part of the station from summer 2028.

2. Zayed National Museum recognised by Prix Versailles (UAE)

Zayed National Museum has been named on the Prix Versailles 2026 World’s Most Beautiful Museums List, as one of seven museums worldwide and the only one from the region. The recognition highlights both the museum’s architectural quality and its role in showcasing the UAE’s history and cultural legacy. Located in the Saadiyat Cultural District, the museum features six permanent galleries, a temporary exhibition space and a 600‑metre outdoor gallery. Its design, inspired by the wings of a falcon, is a clear nod to Emirati culture. The museum was delivered by BESIX Middle East in December 2025.

3. Grid connection milestone for INEOS Project ONE (Belgium)

In April, our colleagues at Vanhout achieved an important milestone on INEOS’s Project ONE in the Port of Antwerp with the successful completion and commissioning of the main electrical substation, also known as the Grid Intake Station (GIS). This key step officially connects the ethane cracker to the electricity network, powered entirely by renewable energy from offshore wind farms along the Belgian coast. With the GIS now in operation, INEOS can move forward with the commissioning phase of Project ONE, marking a significant next step towards safe and reliable operation. Congratulations, team Vanhout!

4. WellBe wins top property award in Portugal

WellBe, BESIX RED’s flagship office project in Lisbon, has been recognised as best property development/new build in the Retail, Services and Offices category at the Salão Imobiliário de Portugal. Co-developed with our partner Atenor and designed by A2M Architecture and Saraiva + Associados, the 30,000 m² office building is located in Parque das Nações. Designed with wellbeing and sustainability at its core, WellBe will become the new headquarters of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, offering an innovative workplace for around 2,500 employees.

And then this... Digital progress on CO₂ data collection (Belgium)

Our Procurement team in Belgium recently brought colleagues together for a second workshop on the digitalisation of CO₂ data collection. The session focused on finding a practical solution that works across departments, addresses concerns and makes the most of the benefits identified so far. After an open exchange of ideas, the group agreed that collecting data at individual project level remains the most effective short-term approach. To support this, a clear six-step process has been defined, and the team will now move forward with developing a dedicated template. To be continued.
