War in Ukraine: support to the victims

Dear colleagues,

After one month, the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues. Like all of you, we are horrified by the resulting humanitarian catastrophe.

We have a special thought for our colleagues who are Ukrainian nationals, or who have family ties and friends in Ukraine. We want them to know that they can turn to the BESIX family at this difficult time.

As the situation on the ground is rapidly changing, it is not always easy to know how to concretely help the victims of this devastating invasion.

At present, it seems that all Ukrainian refugees who have arrived in Belgium are being accommodated and cared for. On the ground, the situation is much more worrying and the needs are immense.

BESIX Group is committed to keep doubling the donations made by employees of all group companies until 31 March. You have two possibilities:

  • We are also opening a specific channel to collect donations through the BESIX Foundation (note that the foundation cannot give you a tax certificate). Donations to this fund will be specifically directed to SOS Children's Villages and Médecins du Monde with whom the Foundation has worked in the past.
Bank details of BESIX Foundation:
IBAN: BE80 3630 4692 2677 - BIC: BBRU BE BB
Mention: "donation Ukraine".

In several regions of the Group, local initiatives are being taken at the moment (fundraising quiz evening, collection of clothes and food, fitting of shelters, etc.). We warmly thank our colleagues who are taking these initiatives.

As far as our group's activities are concerned, we remind you that we have no commercial contacts with Russia or Russian companies. We continue to monitor and examine closely the developments in the region, and in particular in the countries bordering Russia and Ukraine where we are active, namely Georgia, Latvia and Poland. The safety of our employees is of paramount importance and we continue to have plans in place to ensure that all employees and their families are supported.

We are also aware of the fears we all share about this situation. Let us dare to believe in the ability of our states and especially the European Union to find solutions for the peace and security of all. We stand united with Ukraine.
