Week of 19 October
1. 3,000 neighbours make the Pyramid Bridge their own (Belgium)
“It’s incredible what people can achieve.” “We can be proud that something like this can be made in Belgium.” Just two of the reactions heard as some 3,000 local residents came to celebrate the new Pyramid Bridge, a striking new landmark on R4WO, the ring road around Ghent. For one afternoon, the XL bridge belonged to the neighbourhood: no cars just people connecting, playing and taking in the view. Fairground games and food trucks turned the opening into a proper community celebration and a thank-you to residents. And there was another reason to celebrate. The bridge was completed nine months earlier than originally planned. Hats off to our Belgian colleagues for this remarkable achievement, especially Melissa (photo 1), Günther (photo 2, left), Bart (photo 3) and their teams.
2. A devilishly good next step (Australia)
Another week, another stadium. After Brisbane last week, our BESIX Watpac colleagues are heading even further south. This time, Tasmania. BESIX Watpac has been named preferred bidder for the Macquarie Point Multipurpose Stadium in Hobart, taking the project into the next stage of procurement. Our team will now continue working with the Macquarie Point Development Corporation to refine project delivery and engage with local industry before any final contract award. A Tasmanian devilishly good next step for our Australian colleagues. Congratulations to everyone who helped get us here, and good luck for the next phase.

3. Triangle clicks its final façade panel into place (France)
One final panel… And years of work suddenly come into focus. The last façade panel has now been installed on Triangle in Paris, closing a chapter shaped by thousands of contributions from design office to logistics and site. The milestone is especially striking on a tower whose atypical geometry has demanded careful engineering and execution throughout. That expertise also travelled beyond the site since our colleagues Youri Carlson and Aziz Bedoui presented the challenges behind Triangle during the 377th CERES conference at the University of Liège. From solving demanding details to sharing the lessons afterwards, both moments tell the same story: big projects, big on people.
4. More than a splash of pink (Luxembourg)
A mother, a grandmother, a friend, a colleague… Breast cancer has a familiar face for many of us. Every year, more than 27,000 women across the Benelux are diagnosed with breast cancer. That is roughly one person every 19 minutes, a stark reminder of why awareness and screening remain so important. At LuxTP, pink therefore meant much more than a colour this Pink October. Our colleagues came together to put awareness, screening and solidarity in the spotlight, joined by the Elandza association. It was a simple moment with a message that reaches far beyond our offices and construction sites. Pink may have been the colour of the day, but solidarity was truly at its heart. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make that message visible.
And then this...
From exchanging perspectives to building together: the Construction Circle 2026 brought colleagues from across BESIX Construction together, with two days focused on strategy, learning, collaboration and stronger connections.
