On 17 July, we informed you about Microsoft's transition to Microsoft Entra B2B for external collaboration. Under this new model, external users must have a Guest Account in the BESIX tenant before they can access content shared through SharePoint Online and OneDrive. To ensure compliance with Microsoft's requirements while maintaining a seamless user experience, BESIX has now implemented an automated onboarding process for external users.
What does this mean for you?
Nothing changes when you share content with external users. You can continue sharing files and folders through SharePoint and OneDrive as usual. When you share content with an external user, the required Guest Account is now created automatically through a background process. No additional action is required from the BESIX user sharing the content. This solution ensures compliance with Microsoft's updated collaboration model while providing a secure and controlled way of sharing information with partners, suppliers, customers and other external stakeholders.
