The Société Wallonne de Financement Complémentaire des Infrastructures (SOFICO) has awarded the contract to rehabilitate the Lambermont Viaduct on the E42/A27 in Verviers to the BESIX-Galère joint venture. The contract represents an investment of €20 million excluding VAT, financed by SOFICO, the project client of the construction site. It will be carried out in collaboration with SOFICO’s technical partner, SPW Mobilité et Infrastructures, which is the site’s project manager.

The aim of the rehabilitation project is to improve the safety and durability of this essential infrastructure significantly, while minimising disruption to its users by implementing a fast and efficient work methodology, which was a decisive factor in the selection of the contractor.

This project is another feather in the cap for the BESIX-Galère joint venture, which recently showcased its expertise on the construction site for the rehabilitation of the Huccorgne Viaduct. Delivered slightly ahead of schedule, that previous project was an example of excellent collaboration between the partners BESIX-Galère, SOFICO and SPW Mobilité et Infrastructures. For the Lambermont Viaduct, the same dynamic and speed of execution will once again be major strengths.

The BESIX-Galère joint venture is delighted to be taking on this new challenge and contributing to the improvement of Wallonia’s road infrastructure, while guaranteeing the safety of users and the durability of the engineering structures.
