Earlier this week, BESIX celebrated the naming ceremony of Leah, the newest addition to its marine fleet. The Damen Stan Tug was officially named by Leah, the daughter of BESIX Middle East COO Bram Gruez, during a ceremony at the shipyard in Sharjah, UAE.
The investment reflects our continued investment in production assets that strengthen our ability to deliver complex marine and coastal infrastructure projects around the world. After commissioning, Leah will join the BESIX fleet supporting the Mozambique LNG marine works project, where our teams are delivering critical offshore and coastal infrastructure to support one of Africa's largest energy developments.
Tugboats play an essential role in moving barges, positioning floating equipment, assisting vessel manoeuvres and supporting day-to-day construction activities at sea. With Leah, BESIX further expands the specialised assets that help us deliver complex projects safely and efficiently around the world.
