Visit one of the BESIX sites during Open Sites Day 2023!

Group 1 min read

Dear colleagues,

We are excited to announce that Open Sites Day is back this year on Sunday 7 May 2023. From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., visitors can get a glimpse of the construction industry and discover the extensive expertise that is present in the Belgian construction sector. BESIX Group is, of course, participating in this significant construction event, with no less than 5 sites from our group taking part this year!

We are delighted to invite you, your family and friends to visit one or more of our participating projects on this day. Our site teams will be pleased to welcome you and answer any questions you may have.

No registration is required, and you can find all the information you need to plan your visit on the website of Open Sites Day (in French or in Dutch). However, we recommend you to wear sturdy footwear for the visit of some sites.

Here are the 5 sites that will open their doors to the public on 7 May 2023:

  • In Zeebrugge, as part of the COTU consortium, BESIX is involved in the Scheldt tunnel, which is part of the Oosterweel link, one of the largest infrastructure projects ever undertaken in Belgium.
  • The heritage site of the Quartier Vandeuren in Ixelles (Brussels) is being renovated with a focus on preserving the heritage and circular renovation. Jacques Delens and Artes TWT are renovating the entire block, which includes 130 social housing units.
  • In Antwerp, Vanhout is responsible for the construction of a new, almost energy-neutral, high-tech campus for the AP Hogeschool on the former site of the Antwerp slaughterhouses.
  • Wust is participating in the renovation and extension of the macaroon production hall in Dison for PMSweet. It will include a 62-metre-long oven with a capacity of 10 macaroons a second!
  • In Spa, Wust is involved in the complete renovation of the city’s swimming pool with the aim of soon welcoming swimmers in new modern and environmentally friendly facilities.

Take a look at the pictures below to get a sneak peek of what you can expect!

See you there!
