Dear colleagues,

Since June, you have certainly noticed in the corridor, in the elevator or in a communication that BESIX has launched a campaign around #bettertogether.

... But what lies behind this hashtag?
... and what about corporate culture?

BESIX Group, through its Management Committee, has identified six behaviors that are intrinsically linked to our corporate culture, our values, and that are, therefore, expected from each of us. The first letters of the words describing these six behaviors form the word BETTER.

Be inclusive | Eagerness | Take ownership | Trust | Engaging teams | Resolve together

By adopting them in our daily work, we contribute to continuous improvement and faster decision making, we remain a leader in our fields and we work better together.

Each behavior will be highlighted during a few months to raise awareness of its importance and to help you better embody it in your daily work!

Have you already had the opportunity to discover the campaign around BE INCLUSIVE?

  • Inclusion is essential and linked to the value of respect. It ensures fairness, equal opportunity and openness to our colleagues, regardless of their backgrounds, beliefs or lifestyles. BESIX Group's teams are undeniably diverse, as our book Together illustrates. Now we need to learn how to make our workplace more inclusive.
  • Find out what it means to create a truly inclusive workplace and help us build one by watching this e-learning selected by BESIX Group. These two clips remind us of the impact of unconscious bias we encounter in the workplace. To watch them, follow the links below. If you have any problems accessing the clips, please contact eacademy@besix.com.

If your system has not yet been migrated:

Everyone has the power to make a difference and learn how to make the workplace more pleasant and sustainable for everyone, including you.

Keep your eyes open in the elevator, in the mess hall or in your kitchen and open the debate about unconscious bias!

"Be Inclusive invites us to take responsibility for the well-being of our colleagues by contributing to a respectful and caring work environment. Inclusion is also about being open to other ways of looking at things and being willing to find solutions together, while not hesitating to question one's own views or opinions. The business world is becoming more and more complex, and we all need to rely on different opinions and experts to make the best decisions" - Pierre Sironval, Deputy CEO.

We also want to give you the opportunity to co-create this culture with us. Challenge us to further embed this culture through our 6 behaviors. Give us your feedback on how we, and our leadership teams, embody our culture.

Caroline Vyncke has been appointed project coordinator for the rollout of the BETTER plan. You can contact her for details, feedback and ideas.
