In a significant stride toward advancing workplace diversity and inclusivity, BESIX Group and its affiliate, BESIX Infra, are pleased to announce their partnership with Duo for a Job, a leading Belgian non-profit organisation. Together, they are committed to offering concrete employment prospects and mentorship to a minimum of 20 individuals in Flanders.

This concept involves pairing experienced and skilled professionals with younger job seekers often with a migrant or diverse background, fostering a mentoring and coaching dynamic.

This collaboration underscores BESIX Group's dedication to nurturing a more inclusive labour market while addressing the staffing requirements of the regional construction industry. By uniting with Duo for a Job, the company actively strives to dismantle employment obstacles and cultivate a more equitable society.

How it operates

Through Duo for a Job's mentoring program, seasoned professionals within BESIX Group and BESIX Infra will guide and support job seekers, equipping them with the essential skills and confidence needed to excel in the construction sector. Initially, the focus will be on training road and infrastructure workers, with potential expansion to other categories in the future.

Geert Aelbrecht, Chief People Officer at BESIX Group, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership: "This collaboration with Duo for a Job fits perfectly into our ESG approach and in our pursuit of fostering a more inclusive workforce. By delivering mentorship and tangible employment prospects, we aspire to have a positive impact on the lives of job seekers in Flanders."
