BESIX, on behalf of BRAVO4, wins Revizto Award for R4WO Ghent Ring Road project

Global Group 2 min read

We are proud to share that BESIX, as member of the consortium BRAVO4, has won the Revizto Collaborator of the Year Award in the ‘Best Use Road Project’ category at the RevUp Revizto Global User Conference 2025. This award recognises our work on the R4WO project, which is transforming the Ghent Ring Road (R4 West and East).

Using Revitzo’s platform to improve coordination

The R4WO project is a significant initiative by client De Werkvenootschap aimed at enhancing safety, mobility, and liveability around Ghent. The project involves the redesign of 22 intersections and constructing new bridges, tunnels, and underpasses to separate local and through traffic. Additionally, it includes the development of extensive cycling infrastructure, with over 12 kilometres of uninterrupted cycle paths.

Kurt Desimpelaere, BIM Manager for R4WO, accepted the award on behalf of BESIX, as member of BRAVO4. His leadership in digital collaboration and BIM innovation has boosted teamwork, problem-solving, and collaborative practices across all project stakeholders. By using Revizto’s platform, the BRAVO4 team is improving coordination between partners daily, paving the way for efficient project execution.

Delivering complex infrastructure projects like R4WO requires perfect collaboration between all stakeholders – clients, designers, contractors, and public authorities. An integrated platform like Revizto helps us align everyone in real-time, reducing errors and improving efficiency. BESIX has been an early adopter of BIM and continues to push for new digital solutions that enhance the way we work. This award reinforces our commitment to do so, said Kristof Vandenbogaerde, Coporate BIM & Application Manager at BESIX.

The Revizto Collaborator of the Year Awards recognise outstanding use of digital tools in construction. Winning this award highlights BESIX’s and BRAVO4’s commitment to smart collaboration in infrastructure projects.

Thank you to our teams, partners, and stakeholders! This recognition inspires us to keep building smarter and safer sustainable projects.

About Revizto

Revizto is a digital collaboration platform used in construction and infrastructure projects. It allows teams (architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers…) to work together more efficiently by centralising 3D models, 2D plans, and project data in one place. With Revizto, everyone involved in a project can view, comment on, and track changes in real time, helping to avoid mistakes, reduce delays, and improve coordination. The platform is especially useful for complex projects where multiple stakeholders need to stay aligned.

About BRAVO4

The BRAVO4 consortium is a partnership formed to execute the R4 West and East (R4WO) project in Ghent. This consortium comprises several entities, including BESIX, EPICo, I4B – The Belgian Infrastructure Fund, RID PPP (Rebel and Abrdn), and Stadsbader. Together, they are responsible for the design, construction, financing, and 30-year maintenance of the project.
