BESIX France is rocking it at Deloitte University EMEA!

Group Me@BESIX 2 min read

In Bailly-Romainvilliers, about thirty kilometres east of Paris and at a stone’s throw of the famous Disneyland Paris theme park, BESIX France is currently realising the Deloitte University EMEA, the company’s new training center for employees working in Europe, the Middle-East and Africa (EMEA). An ambitious project, especially in terms of sustainability and biodiversity, but one that is being realised fantastically by our team of BESIX France for real estate developer Nexity!

With the delivery nearing soon, it’s a great moment to give a little update of the site. One of our colleagues on site took the time to make a cool drone video, providing us with a fantastic overview of the site:

For internal use only. Do not share externally!

When done, the training center will be a place for Deloitte employees of the EMEA region to come together to learn and network. In total, the center will cover an area of 22,000 m², surrounded by green spaces and a man-made lake with a total surface of 135,000 m². The main building will include a big multifunctional room, 43 classrooms, 12 meeting rooms, a restaurant and 265 bedrooms. BESIX is in charge of all construction works, which include earthworks, the structural and finishing works, civil engineering, foundation works and landscaping. Its partner, Dalkia Smart Building, is responsible for the technical sides.

Especially in terms of energy performance and respect for the environment, this project is ambitious. It has been designed to obtain no less than five first-class certifications, among which are the BREEAM Excellent and Energie+ Carbone- certifications. On top of that, the building will be powered for more than 40% by local green energy which will be provided by 1,100 m² solar panels.

Additionally, we are also taking care of the landscape of the site, the gardens and the development of a wooded park. These will host a wide variety of local water and land plants. Once operational, this area won’t require external water supply, nor drilling operations as it will be fed by rainwater.

The evolution on site is spectacular, as can be seen in the pictures below. The first picture is from August 2020, when structural works had just started. The second one is from March 2022, a couple months after the structural works were completed. Now, finishings are underway and the delivery is planned within the next six months!
