BESIX has secured a design and build contract with NEOM and will be joining MBL and Boskalis for the execution of the Oxagon Port Marine Works, set to commence early February with expected completion in mid-2025. BESIX, as leader of the consortium, will be responsible for constructing 4.6 km of quay walls, together with its local partner. Boskalis will be responsible for the dredging to widen and deepen access to the port. This project is an excellent opportunity to showcase our skills, expertise, and commitment to excellence. The total contract value is about SAR 3 billion (approx. 735 million EUR), of which BESIX's share is 25%.

Oxagon Port marks BESIX's re-entry into Saudi Arabia, a decision that will prove advantageous as the region becomes the centre of development in the coming years. A strategic focus on marine and civil infrastructure projects should push our execution portfolio in the Middle East back into more profitable sectors. It is in precisely this kind of work that we excel. Our capabilities, combined with the efforts of our partners, will allow us to deliver outstanding results and exceed client expectations.

This win is a testament to the meticulous work and valuable contributions of profoundly skilled colleagues that produced the most competitive technical and financial proposal. This win also exemplifies cross-departmental collaboration and cooperation at its finest: diligent commercial work, sharp tendering, intelligent engineering, inputs from CMS, and favourable contract conditions and negotiations — well done, team!

The Oxagon Port tender process is also a good example of the importance of breaking down silos, something which is essential across the organisation, for a better communication and breaking down barriers between people and departments. Once more, well done to all teams involved, for your continued diligence, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our company.
