- The project, which is part of the Development Master Plan for the area surrounding Disneyland, targets five first-class environmental certifications: BREEAM Excellent, Energy+ Carbon-, Biodiversity Excellent, Well Building Institute Gold, and Cradle to Cradle.
- Key figures: 40% renewable energy (photovoltaic), 22,000 m² built surface area, 20 months’ work
Works by BESIX
BESIX is taking care of all construction work, which includes earthworks, the structural and finishing works, civil engineering and foundation works.
BESIX will also landscape the site, with gardens and a wooded park, hosting a wide variety of local aquatic and terrestrial plants. Fed exclusively with recovered rainwater, these areas will not require any external water supply or drilling operation.
Andres Penaloza, Director, BESIX France: “The Deloitte University EMEA will be a benchmark building in terms of the environment, complying with the most demanding certifications and standards in this area. We have developed cutting-edge solutions with our client Nexity to make sure the project optimally meets Deloitte's expectations. BESIX France is very proud to build this project and is pleased with the relevance and the quality of its collaboration with Dalkia Smart Building, a subsidiary of Dalkia (EDF group).”
René Jordens, Commercial Director, BESIX France: “The project that Nexity has entrusted to us enables BESIX to demonstrate its ability to erect a building, from foundations to finishing, within a tight deadline, in this case, twenty months following three months' preparation work. After several offers integrating respect for architecture and a search for variants, BESIX has demonstrated its ability to meet its client's stringent technical and environmental requirements.”
Véronique Ottevaere, Senior Manager Methods & Planning, BESIX France: “From a methods viewpoint, the Deloitte University EMEA is an atypical project for BESIX in the sense of being a low building covering a very large area. The project will be built in less than two years. Particular attention will be paid to respecting the neighbourhood, in particular by minimising evacuation from the site.”
Works by Dalkia Smart Building
Dalkia Smart Building is in charge of the technical sides of the building. This covers heating, air conditioning and domestic hot water, lighting and electricity supply as well as the management of the building and its activities (access control, video surveillance and TBM (technical building management)).
Combining energy performance and renewable energies, the building will be supplied with more than 40% of green and local energy thanks to 1,100 m2 of photovoltaic panels installed on carports and a system to recover waste heat from IT installations and cold rooms.
Arnaud Westrich, President, Dalkia Smart Building: “Deloitte University EMEA represents a fine image of Dalkia Smart Building's DNA: combining energy transition and digital transition. The level of “excellence” targeted by the project’s international labels demonstrates our ability to respond, in a competitive manner, to the needs of sustainable development while ensuring the quality of life and the value in use of our works.”
Work started in February 2020. Designed by the DUBUISSON Architecture agency, the Deloitte University EMEA will cover 22,000 m², surrounded by green spaces and an artificial lake with a total area of 135,000 m². The main building will house a large multifunctional hall, 43 classrooms, 12 meeting rooms, a restaurant and 265 bedrooms.
This virtuous project targets five environmental certifications: BREEAM Excellent, Energy+ Carbon-, Biodiversity Excellent , Well Building Institute Gold and Cradle to Cradle. It is part of the Urban Development Plan for the area surrounding Disneyland.
