Week of 24 March 2025

1. A day of inspiration with the BESIX Group Annual Meeting (Belgium)

Last Thursday marked an important day for our Group, as the 2025 Annual Meeting took place! BESIX Group leadership from across the world convened in Brussels for an eventful day filled with inspiring presentations, engaging panel discussions, and valuable exchanges on strategy, safety, and key company themes. In addition, younger BESIX talents took the stage to share their experiences and challenges from across the globe. A great moment of reflection, learning, and looking ahead to the future!

2. BESIX RED kicks off Green Station project (Belgium)

Last Tuesday, BESIX RED and Thomas & Piron Bâtiment marked the start of the Green Station project in Gembloux with a symbolic first stone laying. The event was attended by Walloon Minister François Desquesnes and Mayor Benoît Dispa. Situated near the train station, this 56,890 m² sustainable district will feature 535 homes across 10 residences, 145 parking spaces, and a public park. Our entities Wust and LuxTP are entrusted the construction—a great example of intra-group collaboration in action!

3. Formwork railway bridge moved for onshore dismantling (Latvia)

In Riga, the BERERIX consortium—including BESIX—is making great strides on the Rail Baltica Central Station project. This ambitious development includes a new station building, a major railway bridge over the River Daugava, and extensive track works.

Last week, the team successfully transferred the bridge traveller formwork onto a barge for onshore dismantling, fully unveiling the first completed bridge span which was poured just a few weeks ago. Good job, team BERERIX!

4. Bridge construction kicked off (Gabon

In Gabon, the President of Transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, symbolically launched construction of the new Ebel-Abanga bridge! The new bridge will replace an ageing 59-year-old infrastructure and aims to improve traffic flow, user safety and boost the local economy. It is part of a broader project including two flyovers and four pedestrian bridges. Good luck, team Gabon!

And then this... Media visit at Aerospacelab’s Megafactory (Belgium)

Last week, journalists from Belgian and Dutch broadcasters got an exclusive look at the Aerospacelab Megafactory site, where BESIX and Galère are bringing this groundbreaking project to life. With the capacity to produce 500 satellites a year, this will be Europe’s largest satellite factory and the third largest in the world! The journalists were guided around by the site team, including our BESIX Project Manager Alexandre Duthoit who was also interviewed. You can see RTBF’s full interview here (in French only).
