Week of 23 June
1. Aramco Stadium takes shape (Saudi Arabia)
In Dammam, progress on the Aramco Stadium is moving at full pace. The raker beams and bleachers, which are key elements forming the stadium’s bowl, are coming together quickly across all levels. This consistent progress sets the stage for the next significant step: raising the steel roof structure before installing the 45,000 seats. The project is on schedule for completion in time for the 2027 Asian Football Confederation Cup. Keep up the good work, team!
2. Exciting progress at Triangle (France)
Over in Paris (France), our team is also making great strides at the Triangle project! The concrete core has now reached the 27th floor, while the unique double-skin façade is steadily climbing, currently visible up to level 17. Inside, work is accelerating with partitions, ceilings, and raised floors shaping the initial office spaces. Lastly, waterproofing and guardrail works are well underway, and the first solar panels have already been installed into the railings. Well done to the teams on site!
Triangle is a unique new mixed-use development near the Expo Porte de Versailles, offering premium offices, a 4-star Radisson Blu hotel, retail spaces, topped off with a panoramic viewing deck and restaurant overlooking Paris.
3. Awards for Beveren Tunnel and R4WO (Belgium)
Two of our infrastructure projects in Belgium have recently picked up well-deserved recognition. Firstly, the full renovation of the Beveren Tunnel won the Public’s Choice Award at the 2025 Publica Awards in the Urban Development – Infrastructure – Mobility category. BESIX, BESIX Infra, BESIX Unitec, Stadsbader and Equans are giving this important piece of infrastructure in the port of Antwerp a makeover to ensure its viability in the future.
Meanwhile, our colleagues at BRAVO4 took home the Proximo PPP Award 2025 for best PPP project in Europe. Consisting of BESIX, Stadsbader, Rebel, EPICo and I4B, the consortium is transforming 22 intersections on the R4 ring road in Ghent, making it one of Belgium’s largest PPPs.
Congratulations to both teams!
4. Last stretch for Franki Foundations at Matisse 16 (Belgium)
Our colleagues of Franki Foundations are making great progress with the deep foundations for the Matisse 16 project in Evere (Belgium). After successfully completing the first phase, they’re now tackling the lower zone, where around 150 piles are still to be installed. In total, the team will have placed 258 piles ranging from 10 to 20 metres deep. Good luck with this last stretch, team Franki Foundations!
Matisse 16 is an ambitious mixed-use developement by BESIX RED that mixes sustainability, excellent connectivity and contemporary urban living, and will include residences, retail areas and offices.
And then this... A refreshing treat for the Google Data Center team (Belgium)
With temperatures soaring in Belgium last week, our team at the Google Data Center site were glad to cool down with some well-deserved ice cream, kindly handed out by their HSE colleagues. It was a simple gesture, but a welcome one during a busy period on site.
In the southwest of Belgium, BESIX is building the core and shell of a hyperscale data centre for Google, helping to meet growing digital demands with a fast-track delivery.
