Week of 16 February

1. Triangle tops out (France)

Great news from Paris this week, where our BESIX France team has officially reached the highest point of Triangle. Now standing at around 180 metres, the tower is becoming a clear new landmark on the city’s skyline. Congratulations, colleagues!

Located near the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre, this mixed‑use project will bring together offices, a 4‑star Radisson Blu hotel, retail spaces, a restaurant, and a panoramic viewing deck.

2. Tower crane installed at Project Flight (Australia)

Over in Adelaide, our BESIX Watpac team has placed an important new addition on site: a 65‑metre tower crane to support Project Flight at Adelaide Airport. With its impressive reach, the crane will help the team progress both safely and efficiently. Nicely done, team!

Project Flight includes a larger, technology‑enhanced check‑in hall, a 10,000 m² extension to the Northern Terminal, and a 5,500 m² expansion of the Southern Terminal. The upgraded check‑in area will feature new kiosks and additional bag‑drop facilities, all designed to create a smoother, more seamless experience for travellers.

3. Fly over the Rail Baltica project with us (Latvia)

In the centre of Riga, the BERERIX team has reached a great milestone with the completion of the load‑bearing metal structure of the roof at the Rail Baltica Riga Central Station! As soon as the weather improves, work will continue on the glass elements and the architectural metal coating that define the station’s striking architecture. Meanwhile, interior and insulation works are progressing steadily, giving shape to the future passenger areas.

Beyond the station itself, the team is also constructing a new railway bridge over the Daugava River and carrying out major track works as part of the wider Rail Baltica programme that aims to integrate the Baltic states into the European railway network. Take a look at the video below for a great aerial view of this impressive project.

4. Façade POST Rotterdam all but complete (the Netherlands)

In Rotterdam, our BESIX NL colleagues are closing in on a major milestone at the POST project. Work on the impressive 155-metre-high tower has been progressing steadily and the team has now installed over 90% of the striking glass-fibre reinforced concrete (GFRC) façade! The result is already impressive, as you’ll see in the pictures below. A great effort by the whole team as they head into the final stretch!

And then this... Behind the scenes at the Grand Théâtre (Belgium)

In Verviers, our Wust colleagues recently welcomed some special visitors to the Grand Théâtre renovation site. Often referred to as the “site of the century” for the city, the project was the focus of a new television broadcast highlighting the remarkable work on‑site and the passion of the Wust‑Denys team. The programme will return each year throughout the renovation, giving viewers a behind‑the‑scenes look at the transformation of this historic 1892 building.

Together, Wust and Denys are restoring the historic Grand Théâtre to its original architectural splendour while meeting today’s standards for accessibility, safety and acoustics, with a modern extension adding a fresh touch.

You can replay the broadcast here (in French only). And swipe through the gallery below to discover what the building looks like!
