Week of 22 June
1. Working with the sky as your closest colleague (Belgium)
On site, the weather is not a backdrop: it’s a constant factor. Wind, rain, storms… when you’re operating a crane dozens of metres above the ground, every shift in the sky counts. Jean-Pol Puissieux, crane operator for over twenty years at Wust, knows that better than anyone. As a member of the RTBF Ciel Partagé community, he watches the sky evolve day by day. As Seneca put it: “if you live in harmony with nature, you will never be poor”.

2. Unexpected visitor on site (Mozambique)
Alert! Not all visitors sign in at the gate. On our site in Afungi, Mozambique, a rather special guest was spotted observing the works with striking attention. Curious, watchful… and very much at ease in its surroundings.
Extra help on site or simply passing by? Who knows. One thing is certain: moments like this remind us that we are building in environments where nature is never far away. Spot the visitor in the image.

3. Dismantling a giant in the heart of Antwerp (Belgium)
Taking down a tower crane is never routine, let alone on the Meir, one of Belgium’s busiest shopping streets. Our teams dismantled the crane at the former Belgacom building, under the curious gaze of countless passers-by who followed the operation with great interest. Not your everyday site activity and all executed smoothly from start to finish.
The transformation now moves forward. The upper floors will house a new campus for Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences, set to welcome around 6,000 students. On the ground floor, 10,000 m² of retail space will take shape, including what will become the largest Zara store in the world. A complex operation, a prime location, a project reshaping the city.
4. Sweat, smiles and serious team spirit in Dammam (Saudi Arabia)
Sweat and tears. Plenty of both. Mostly sweat, and in the end, tears of joy. At the BESIX Sports Day in Dammam, 700 people from the Aramco Stadium broad project team (client, employees, subcos, consultants…) swapped tools for trainers and took to the field for football, basketball, badminton, or just cheering! And no surprise: a team that knows performance inside out brought the same drive to sport. Because while talent wins games, teamwork and intelligence win championships, as Michael Jordan once said. And that spirit was on full display.
Take a look at the video and feel the energy, the effort and the team spirit behind the smiles.
