1. Vanhout delivers renovation project in Antwerp (Belgium)

Vanhout recently delivered a beautiful renovation project: the Fierens buildings in Antwerp. The previous 205 residential units dating back to the late thirties underwent a remarkable transformation, resulting in the creation of 110 apartments. As you can see in the pictures below, the restoration process was aimed at preserving the building’s authenticity. Indeed, the Fierens blocks are just about the last surviving example of brick modernism in Antwerp. The complex also features office space, common roof terraces, retail areas, and a patio. Congrats to our Vanhout colleagues!

2. Crane up at Gold Coast University Hospital (Australia)

Works are ramping up at the Gold Coast University Hospital’s Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit project. The tower crane arrived earlier this month and it now rises 42 metres above site. The team has also completed bulk excavation and piling works, to prepare for the next phase of the project. Congratulations to the BESIX Watpac team on reaching this milestone!

More information on this project here.

3. Nordhavn tunnel making steady progress (Denmark)

Works are progressing well at the Nordhavn tunnel site. The sand pumping for the construction of the working platform is nearing completion.

And the team is doing something for mother nature as well: The Nordhavn tunnel project team has created a biodiversity corner. It may just be a corner with tree stumps and felled bushes for beetles and other insects, but it is well located near the little nature surrounding the project. The colleagues even made a welcome sign for the insects! 😊 (lower right-hand corner of the pic)

Way to go, Nordhavn team!

4. Poti breakwater completion in images (Georgia)

The reconstruction of the Poti Port’s main breakwater was recently completed. It is 1850-meter-long and it has been providing protection to the port from the waves for about 150 years. You can get an overview of the works in the beautiful areal views in the video below. Congrats to the Poti team for completing this project!

And then this…

The team at the Guggenheim Museum in Abu Dhabi achieved 10 million safe man hours – a fantastic achievement which serves as a testament to the team's unwavering commitment to safety and the well-being of everyone involved in the project. The team is also making considerable progress in installing the façade, as you can see in the various pictures! Well done Abu Dhabi team!
