As a general construction and property development company, Jacques Delens operates mainly in the Brussels region and in Walloon Brabant. This BESIX Group subsidiary won the contract for finishing the China-Belgium Technology Center (CBTC) in a joint venture with Interalu, Close, Engie Axima and Engie Fabricom.

The CBTC is the first business and technology park created by China outside its own territory. It will be built within UCLouvain’s Business and Technology Park in Louvain-la-Neuve. It aims to act as an incubator for innovative companies and to develop partnerships to promote multinational industry and research.

The contract for the finishing work was signed on 15 January, and is worth almost 18 million euros. It represents the culmination of close and fruitful cooperation with the university authorities at UCLouvain, the companies in the joint venture, and the customer. Jacques Delens is essentially responsible for the finishing works on four of the six towers. Work on the site will begin in spring 2020 and will last 12-18 months.

Damien Magerat, Managing Director for Jacques Delens, explains: “We are very proud to be contributing our expertise to this ambitious project. As with each of our projects, we will make it a point of honour that our customer and our partners reap the rewards of our professionalism.”
