1. Vote for Conneqtr Zen at the Belgian Construction Awards

Great news from our digital front! Conneqtr Zen has been nominated for the Belgian Construction Awards in the Smart Solutions category. Conneqtr is one of the companies that are supported by BESIX Technology. Developed by industry leaders including BESIX and the ADEB-VBA federation, Conneqtr’s Zen platform brings technology, regulation and collaboration together to make construction smarter, safer and more efficient. It combines smart document management, CIAW regulations, chain structure and access control in one central environment.

Today, it connects an ecosystem of 6,000 (sub)contractors and supports nearly 15,000 users across 3,000 sites, including the iconic Oosterweel project. By streamlining safety certification and integrating with government systems, Zen helps businesses focus on building while reducing compliance risks. Voting is open until 20 November: https://belgianconstructionawards.be/poll-2025/.

2. Golden hour at Triangle (Paris)

Autumn may bring shorter days on the Northern hemisphere at the moment, but it also gifts us those magical sunsets. Our colleagues in Paris captured Triangle bathed in a golden-rose glow as the sun dipped behind the city. This striking mixed-use development near Expo Porte de Versailles combines premium offices, a 4-star Radisson Blu hotel, retail spaces and, at the top, a panoramic viewing deck and restaurant overlooking Paris.

3. First berth at Portonave (Brazil)

In Navegantes, BESIX and ECB are upgrading Portonave’s maritime infrastructure to welcome larger vessels. The project involves building a new quay wall in the same location as the existing one, all while keeping port operations running smoothly. The first section of the quay wall is now in service and the first LNGpowered container carrier berthed last week. Congratulations!

4. Double milestone for BESIX RED

It’s been a busy week for our BESIX RED colleagues! First, they inaugurated DUUO I, their debut residential project in Portugal. Soon, residents will enjoy spacious terraces, an outdoor pool, a gym and landscaped gardens, all designed for high-quality, sustainable living.

Meanwhile, BESIX RED launched the commercialisation of Duinhil in Kijkduin (the Netherlands). This exceptional seaside development will transform a former hotel into a mixed-use destination with high-end apartments, penthouses and a luxury wellness hotel. Congratulations to the teams behind these achievements!

And then this... Urban Leader Award for Mark Baker

Congratulations to Mark Baker (CEO of BESIX Watpac) on winning The Urban Developer – Urban Leader Award for Construction! Under Mark’s leadership, the team has delivered award-winning projects such as the Kangaroo Point Bridge and Sydney Metro Barangaroo Station, achieved a record $3.5-billion order book, and expanded into new markets – all while driving meaningful social outcomes. This recognition is a testament to the strength and dedication of the entire BESIX Watpac team.
