Week of 3 February

1. The sky is the limit in Africa (Morocco & Ivory Coast)

We are currently constructing not one, but two remarkable high-rises on the African continent. In Rabat (Morocco), our team is nearing the completion of the 255-metre-high Mohammed VI Tower, designed to be visible from 50 kilometres away. Meanwhile, approximately 5,000 kilometre further south, our colleagues in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) are making great progress on the Tour F, which is set to become Africa's tallest tower. It has recently surpassed the Mohammed VI Tower in height and now stands at an impressive 262 metres. We wish both teams the best in completing these iconic projects!

2. Works on new Ebel-Abanga bridge started (Gabon)

An exciting new phase of our Gabon project began last week! Following the opening of the first footbridge in Libreville last November, we have now commenced earthworks for the new Ebel-Abanga bridge. Together with Matière and MBB, we are delivering a total of seven structures, including two 200-metre flyovers and four footbridges in Libreville. Best of luck with this new phase, colleagues!

3. POST Rotterdam rises further in the air (the Netherlands)

In addition to our projects in Morocco and Ivory Coast, our team in the Netherlands is also making great progress at the POST Rotterdam project, which comprises the transformation of the city’s former post office, including the addition of a new tower. The building’s core has now reached 130 metres, nearing its final height of 155 metres. Meanwhile, the installation of the striking glass-fibre reinforced concrete (GFRC) elements is well underway. Behind these tailor-made arches, an aluminium curtain wall is being installed, ensuring top-tier energy performance. Well done, team POST!

4. Progress shows in the Port of NEOM (Saudi-Arabia)

Now to Saudi Arabia, where our team is advancing on the Port of NEOM development project in Oxagon City, set for completion this summer. The works involve designing and constructing over three kilometres of quay walls, upgrading facilities, and installing advanced port equipment. The pictures below show the pile installation for the combi wall for the flexible berth. Keep up the great work, team Oxagon!

And then this... BESIX Group represented at Hyvolution 2025 (France)

Last week, BESIX, BESIX Environment N.V. and BESIX Invest took part in the Hyvolution 2025 fair in Paris. The event underscored the importance of innovative energy solutions for a positive climate impact. With a strong presence at the Belgian, Flanders, and Walloon pavilions, our colleagues strengthened connections, explored new opportunities in green hydrogen, and exchanged expertise with industry leaders.
