Dear colleagues,
I’m delighted to announce that Sylvain Philippe Sainton will join us as Chief Procurement Officer as from Monday 5 December 2022. His solid credentials make him the right person to take up the upcoming challenges in the Procurement organization.
Sylvain Philippe (49 years), graduated at the Ecole Centrale de Marseille (France) as Master of Science in Mechanics, Electronics and Project Management. He has built up a significant experience in the procurement area since 1999 with companies like Sonaca, GSK, Albermale, Lhoist and recently NLMK where he is currently holding office as Chief Procurement Officer.
Together with his team, he will pursue the Procurement strategy outlined by the Group these recent years. Strengthening of the Group’s Procurement capabilities in vendor management, driving long-term development of negotiation and procurement skills among the group’s Procurement staff, and crucially building effective cross-functional working relationships to support the business across the Group during lifecycle of projects from design to execution phase, will be his main priorities.

Our colleagues in Procurement functions are key contributors to improve projects’ profit margins: together with Sylvain Philippe, they will keep driving procurement synergies across the organisation to deliver greater value for our Group.”
Please join me in thanking Koen De Mey, Procurement Director Europe & International, and François Lhomme, Procurement Director Middle East, for taking the lead until Sylvain Philippe is onboarded.
Sylvain Philippe will report directly to me, and functionally to Hans Beerlandt, Head of Finance.
