Socogetra accelerates growth in concrete rehabilitation in Wallonia

Global 1 min read

Socogetra, a subsidiary of BESIX Group, has reached a major milestone with the acquisition of a 70% stake in Béton Refect SA, a leading player in concrete rehabilitation in Wallonia.

A strategic partnership to meet growing demand

Béton Refect SA is active in both public and private projects, covering the construction, renovation, insulation, and maintenance of concrete infrastructure. This expertise perfectly complements Socogetra’s strategy, which aims to anticipate rising demand linked to the modernisation of ageing infrastructure across Wallonia.

Synergies and long-term outlook

By integrating Béton Refect, Socogetra strengthens its position in the concrete repair market and further consolidates existing synergies, with several joint projects already secured and recorded in the order book.

The transaction also enhances Socogetra’s ability to deliver highly specialised solutions, as Béton Refect brings strong capabilities in concrete spraying and cathodic protection.

Finally, the acquisition opens up new growth opportunities for Socogetra. Thanks to Béton Refect’s accreditation to operate at the Tihange nuclear power plant, the company could be qualified for concrete repair works scheduled over the next ten years, which constitutes a market with significant potential.

Based in Flémalle, Béton Refect SA employs around 20 people and reported revenue of EUR 2.3 million in 2024.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

“This acquisition marks a key step for Socogetra. It strengthens our expertise in concrete rehabilitation and enables us to anticipate future market needs by offering specialised solutions for infrastructure renewal in Belgium,” said Olivier Grandjean, CEO of Socogetra.
