Site supervisor... what a great job!

Group 1 min read

Labour shortage in the construction sector is a persistent problem. Although the situation can vary depending on the region, economic conditions, and other factors, construction trades are generally in demand. There are too few (young) skilled workers, and this shortage is a complex challenge that requires efforts in training, recruitment, and retention of labour as well as solutions to attract new workers to these trades.

Faced with this situation, BESIX is not sitting idle. Our People department is constantly looking for ways to attract candidates. Recently, the department started a collaboration with the French-speaking public television channel RTBF by creating a video for the programme 'Beaux Boulots' (’Great jobs’), which highlights jobs in demand. Benoît Jouret, site superintendent on the RTBF site, played along. We invite you to watch this video in which he explains what his work entails.

A big thank you to Benoît and the other colleagues from the RTBF construction site for their participation in the video!

Our video is broadcasted every day on laUne at 5:20 PM. It will be aired in two weeks on Tipik at 8 PM and then during the morning show 'le 6-8' on radios laUne and Vivacité.

At the same time, our capsule will be featured on Auvio and will benefit from sponsored communication on the programme's social networks (YouTube, Facebook et LinkedIn).

Benoît Jouret : A site superintendent is like the Swiss Army knife of the construction site. He has to take the wishes of architects and project engineers and translate them on-site at all levels, including quality and safety.

You can help us! As BESIX employees, you are our best ambassadors in our recruitment efforts. If you know someone in your network whom you could recommend for a vacant position, please let us know. The procedure is explained here. And what's more, it can pay off for you... If the person is hired, you will be entitled to a cash award!
