In September 2015, the 193 member states attending the UN General Assembly in New York decided on a new, ambitious action plan for the world: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
This Agenda contains 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a large blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.
At corporate level, the SDGs form a framework for companies to fulfil ESG, Environmental, Social & Governance requirements. These topics are becoming of crucial importance as they are all covered by the EU regulations, and hence, mandatory.

Come and participate in our SDG Awareness Workshop at the beginning of June to:
- Understand the integrated & indivisible nature of the SDGs and how they relate to BESIX
- Discover how BESIX negatively and/or positively impacts the SDGs and learn to prioritize actions
- Brainstorm in small groups on the future of the construction sector. We will get to work with the SDG wheel and reflect together on how we can further strategically embed sustainability in BESIX
The session will be led by Peter Wollaert, SDG expert associated with UNITAR, the UN training centre in Geneva.
When?
- Dutch session: Thursday 1 June, 9h – 11h30, in-person at BESIX Academy in Diegem
- French session: Thursday 1 June, 14h – 16h30, in-person at BESIX Academy in Diegem
- English session: Tuesday 6 June, 9h – 11h30 CET, online
Note the online session in English is primarily aimed at colleagues working abroad.
