Open Sites Day 2022: another successful edition!

Me@BESIX Group 1 min read

On Sunday 15 May 2022, construction sites all over Belgium opened their doors for the general public for the annual Open Sites Day. Cancelled in 2020 and replaced by a digital version in 2021, this was the first time in two years visitors could discover the sites again in real life. With close to 1,750 people visiting one of our Group’s participating sites, we can tell you: it was a success!

At the H. Henneaulaan in Zaventem, the teams of BESIX and BESIX Infra had to pleasure to welcome 500 visitors, while only a couple of kilometres away, the RTBF Media Square, built by BESIX (in partnership with Valens), received 250 visitors. In Antwerp, close to 500 visitors brought a visit the residential building of Fierensblokken, for which Vanhout is in charge.

In Wallonia as well, two sites participated in this year’s Open Sites Day. At the site of Paradis Express in Liège, where BESIX and Wust are constructing an eco-district, 500 people came by to explore the project. Lastly, the new headquarters of our entity Socogetra, built by another one of our entities, Wust, had 170 visitors.

We would like to warmly thank everyone who either came to visit one of the sites and/or were present to volunteers that day. It’s because of you that Open Sites Day was once again a great success for BESIX and it’s entities, just like the other years! Hopefully, we inspired our visitors and even sparked some new vocations among them.

See you next year!
