On 1 March, we celebrate Compliment Day. This year, at BESIX, we would like to do something a little more us: turn it into a Compliment Month.
On our sites, in our offices, across projects and functions, we work at a fast pace. We solve problems, move on to the next task and focus on delivery. That is part of who we are. But along the way, many good things happen that deserve to be noticed. A colleague who steps in without being asked. Someone who keeps a cool head when things get tight. A team that goes the extra mile to help another one succeed. Too often, those moments pass without being said out loud.
Taking a moment to give a compliment is simple, but it matters. It tells people they are seen. It builds confidence, strengthens cooperation and reminds us that BESIX is not just about projects and results, but about people working together, day after day.
Throughout March, compliment post‑its will be available at several of our projects in Belgium and in our offices, in the collective areas. Use them freely. Write a few words and leave one on a desk, a screen, a door, or hand it to a colleague directly. It does not need to be clever or formal. A genuine “thank you”, a quick “well done” or “I really appreciated this” is more than enough.
Let’s make appreciation visible this month, across teams, roles and locations. Small gestures, when repeated, shape the culture we want to work in.
