On Saturday 9 October 2021, BESIX determined it was the target of a cyber security incident, affecting some of the servers supporting mostly its Belgian IT systems. The company took immediate action, suspending all affected systems, shutting down servers, notifying authorities and activating BESIX’s global network of IT professionals and third-party experts to resolve the situation. The company is actively working to restore its systems as soon as possible.
BESIX is not aware of any evidence at this time that any customer, supplier or employee data has been compromised as a result of the situation. Resolution of the incident will take time, which may delay certain transactions with customers and suppliers. BESIX and its IT-partners continue to assess and manage the situation to minimize the impact on the company’s operations, customers and partners from the current situation. Projects and construction sites are currently running without major disruption.
