COVID-19 at the Head Office: time to relax some measures

1 min read

Dear colleagues,

In our fight against the COVID-19 virus, behaviour is key. During the past few weeks and months we’ve observed that everyone at the head office is respecting the golden rules (safe distance, hand hygiene and mouth mask) extremely well. This enables us to relax on a few measures. Right on time, as more people coming back to the office has increased our need for capacity in certain areas.

So what is changing?

Restaurant area

The restaurant area was one of the major bottlenecks in terms of capacity. We had 64 places available, which was fine during the summer, but it was getting quite crowded during the past two weeks. This is why we’ve reassessed the layout of the table setting and we were able to increase the capacity to 77. Obviously we’ll keep monitoring the situation and if needed, we’ll introduce other measures to make sure everyone has a spot to eat in safety. We would just like to ask you to keep your stay in the restaurant as short as possible. Instead of staying at your table after you’ve finished your meal, why not go for a walk outside? It’s healthy and you’ll free up space for other colleagues.

Elevators

We’ve observed a couple of bottlenecks lately with the use of the elevators. This is why we’re raising the maximum number of people that can be in an elevator from 2 to 3. Since everyone is wearing his or her mouth mask and you’re only very briefly in the elevator, the risk level is quite low.

Fitness and bike facilities

Just before the second wave, we were planning to reopen the fitness and the bike facilities. Obviously, with the COVID statistics being what they are at the moment, we can’t open these areas yet. We’ll keep monitoring the evolution of the curve. If the numbers go down sufficiently, we will reopen the fitness and bike facilities again.

If and when other measures change, we’ll keep you updated.

Should you have any questions about travelling safely or you don’t know what to do in case you've tested positive, you can find all info in the COVID-19 Toolkit on the portal.
