BESIX Group is pleased to announce that it is contributing as a shareholder to the creation of LES NEWS 24 ("LN24"), the first 24/7 news channel in French-speaking Belgium.
LN24 will be run by its three creators, Boris Portnoy, Joan Condijts et Martin Buxant, all experts from the Belgian media world, with mutually complementary experience in audiovisual and print media.
LN24 intends to broadcast accurate, reliable and detailed information covering the entire national territory. LN24 is a credible player in a society shaken by news escalation and the race to information. LN24 will, among other things, offer leading political and economic information with a constructive outlook, and a journalistic approach focused on solutions. Discussions of ideas, analyses and comments will occupy a prominent place in the content of LN24. LN24 will be available 24/7 on television and on internet in the course of 2019.
In addition to its three founders, LN24's shareholders are BESIX, BELFIUS BANQUE SA ("Belfius"), Giles DAOUST and Ice-Patrimonial.
Rik Vandenberghe, CEO of BESIX Group, comments: "It was LN24's entrepreneurial approach and the professionalism of its creators that attracted us in particular. In addition to these aspects, which lend credibility to the project, it is also the values LN24 advocates that convinced us. These are the same as those that guide BESIX on a daily basis: addressing the challenges facing our country in a positive and SOLUTIONS-oriented way. This desire to undertake positive, constructive journalism charmed us from the very first contacts."
BESIX holds a 33.22% stake in LN24 and is represented on the channel's Board of Directors by two directors.
