More great news from Dubai (🇦🇪), as the Dubai Uptown Tower records 20 million safe man-hours without lost time injury since the project began in January 2019.

BESIX in the Middle East is responsible for the detailed engineering and construction of this exceptional 340-metre-high skyscraper in Dubai's Uptown district, offering breath-taking views of both Dubai's waterfront and iconic skyline. The project is developed by Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC), the client, and was designed by the architectural firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture. The works are being carried out under the supervisory management of Turner International Middle East, with WSP and Woods Bagot as structural, technical and architectural consultants, respectively.

Collaboration and teamwork across all levels of the hierarchy as well as among the client, consultants and sub-contractors are at the heart of this outstanding achievement of 20 million safe man-hours. Mutual trust, care and respect are the foundations on which BESIX Group is building a healthy and safe workplace. BESIX Group believe that people are the solution and that excellence is achieved through unity and cocreation.

“The Dubai Uptown Tower project team has demonstrated an exemplary leadership model in going the extra mile for safety and achieving this remarkable performance together with all stakeholders” says Bernard Patze, Project Director BESIX Middle East.

Having topped out in January this year, the 340-metre-tall tower is set to be a LEED Gold certified building and will be home to DMCC’s new state-of-the-art headquarters.
