Belgium: Build in Digital and Bouwkroniek report on the D&B contract won by BESIX and partner Equans for a new data center for developer KevlinX. VRT News reported on Prime Minister meetings Belgian CEOs (incl. BESIX), prior to leaving to COP28. GWW published an article on the decarbonisation of foundations based on an interview with Maurice Bottiau, General Manager Franki Foundations.
Australia: Media outlet Daily Mail reports on the masthead being put in place atop the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge, by BESIX Watpac.
UAE: Modern Power Systems reports on the first electricity provided to the UAE grid from the world’s largest WtE facility by BESIX and partner Hitachi. Flemish news outlet Radio 1 features a short interview of Prime Minister De Croo, mentioning our Waste-to-Energy project. Prime Minister visited the plant this Friday morning, as reported by Flemish TV News VTM (as from 19:40’’, free account needed).
Italy: Specialised media outlet World Highways reports about the new BESIX-Donati contract awarded for road infrastructure accessing the port of Ancona.

2. Social media posts mentioning BESIX projects

HQ Socogetra (Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium): photographer Pascal Themans posting new pictures of the building on his website.
Quatuor (Brussels, Belgium): Jaspers-Eyers Architects presented the project at the World Architecture Festival in Singapore.
LAGO Swimming Pool (Bredene, Belgium): the first symbolical stone has been placed, officially launching the start of construction.
Renovation Mercator lock (Oostend, Belgium): the lock gates are being stored at Hupkes Wijma, the company who manufactured the gates, and are kept moist until they’re transported to their final destination.
Mediavaert (Amsterdam, the Netherlands): it’s been two years since BESIX NL started working on the project and now the delivery is only two months away.
A16 – De Groene Boog (Rotterdam, the Netherlands): concrete is being poured for the 12th segment of the second and final deck for the flyover across the Terbregseplein.
Nachtigal Hydropower Project (Cameroon): the 181th and final ferrule, part of penstock 7, has been installed.
Barangaroo Metro Station (Sydney, Australia): video of the interior stone & tiling work, executed by Absolute + NSW Minister for Transport visited the project as part of the first community open day.
Kangaroo Point Green Bridge (Brisbane, Australia): the bridge’s masthead has been lifted into place, which was posted multiple times on LinkedIn, such as here, here, here, here + MATES in Construction has given a General Awareness Training.
BESIX Unitec / BESIX Connect: the teams have installed a POP, an physical installation where the internet service provider connects to its customers, in Sint-Niklaas (Belgium) + also see here.
BESIX Infra Nederland: primary school students received a workshop on how to detect a truck’s blind spots (the Netherlands).
BESIX Foundation / Jacques Delens: a KiddyBuild session was organised on the site in Waterloo (Belgium).

Pauline had a great day at ZOO Planckendael’s light show Dragons & Unicorns, to which she and her family was invited by BESIX.
In the context of COP28, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo invited 20 Belgian CEOs, including BESIX CEO Pierre Sironval, for a discussion about what the road to net-zero should look like.
Pierre Sironval, as sponsor of the GESIIC master’s programme, and Carlo Schreurs celebrated the graduation of the master students at Sorbonne University (Paris, France).
BESIX Infra guided around third year master’s students in construction their site in Bilzen (Belgium)!
