Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that Jean-Francois (Jef) Deswijsen has joined the business unit BESIX Belgium-Luxembourg as Operations Manager Civil Works for the region Wallonia-Luxembourg as from 1 May 2022. Just like the other operations managers, Jean-Francois reports to me.
Jean-Francois Deswijsen, a civil construction engineer, started his career at BESIX 17 years ago at the headquarters in Brussels. He worked thereafter a.o. in Equatorial Guinea (Malabo LNG Terminal), United Kingdom (South Hook LNG Terminal), Egypt (Ain Sukhna Terminal, Nile Corniche in Cairo, El Ain Power Plant, Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo), Qatar (Gabbro Terminal Expansion), Montenegro (Chedi Hotel in Lustica Bay) and France (Airport Promenade in Nice). He is now returning to Belgium and joining the business unit BESIX Belgium-Luxembourg.
Dirk van Lokeren (Senior Operations Manager Civil Works Flanders-Brussels), Jean-Francois and their teams manage as from now all civil works in Belgium-Luxembourg.
Waldo Vanhentenrijk, Operations Manager Buildings in Brussels, extends his scope and is now also responsible for the buildings in Wallonia and Luxembourg.
Koen Peeters (Operations Manager Buildings in Antwerp-Limburg), Nico De Wilde (Operations Manager Buildings in East and West Flanders), Waldo and their teams manage all building projects in Belgium-Luxembourg.
With this clear operational organisation, we are now ideally equipped to take on a number of new, particularly challenging projects and to manage the shift in type of clients and requirements. Our projects are becoming larger and more complex as it is our clear ambition to position ourselves higher up the value chain, while of course taking into account the responsibilities and risks, with the clear aim to improve our net margins.
At the same time, you can count on me to devote a great amount of attention to the care and further development of our strong operational team, as you and your colleagues are the driving force of our successful organisation.
