BESIX and Galère to build Europe’s largest satellite factory in Belgium

We are excited to share that BESIX and its joint venture partner Galère have been selected to build Aerospacelab’s Megafactory in Charleroi (Belgium). With a capacity of building 500 satellites a year, the facility will be largest satellite factory in Europe and the third largest globally. This prestigious project highlights our company’s expertise in industrial projects with a high added value.

Leveraging on many decades of experience in complex and technically demanding projects, BESIX and Galère succeeded in demonstrating their ability to meet the specific needs of the aerospace sector. This state-of-the-art factory in Charleroi (Belgium) will be equipped with the most advanced technologies for the production of 150 kg to 1-tonne satellites. These satellites can be deployed in a variety of applications, including data collection and space imaging.

BESIX and Galère will be responsible for the foundations, the building shell, the façades and the finishing work, as well as for managing and coordinating the co-contractors. Their team of highly-qualified engineers and technicians will ensure that the strictest quality and safety standards are met at every stage.
