This year, 88 teams took part in the BESIX CleanUp Day, that is an all-time record! Together, we mobilised 2,920 participants and collected nearly 10 tonnes of waste. What a fantastic achievement, congratulations to all!
More than just a number, this record reflects the enthusiasm and growing environmental awareness across BESIX Group. That is precisely what makes this initiative so special: every team counts, regardless of its size. Whether five people took part or 50, and whether the action was large or modest, each team contributed to the collective efforts behind our CleanUp Day.
The winner of this year’s photo competition is the COE/AAC/LOC team 🎉.

BESIX Foundation will now make a €2,500 donation to the charity chosen by the winning team: Animals & Us in Fujairah.
Behind these results were many inspiring stories: teams mobilised their networks, joined forces and involved partners and local communities.
One wonderful example came from Gabon, where the team invited women from a local market and children from a nearby school to join their CleanUp. Afterwards, the team gave them waste bins so they could continue their efforts beyond the event.
This beautifully illustrates the spirit we want to encourage: a CleanUp action that goes further, brings people together and raises awareness beyond the event itself.
That is why we have decided to present the EBEL Abanga team with a special jury award, enabling them to support the project of Tortues Tahiti Gabon in Libreville.
