Week of 9 February
1. Centerpiece of St George Hospital redevelopment completed (Australia)
Our colleagues at BESIX Watpac have completed the latest phase of the St George Hospital redevelopment in Sydney, delivering the new nine‑storey Kensington Street Building. This modern, purpose‑built facility brings community and outpatient services together under one roof, improving access and coordination of care for patients, visitors and staff. With plenty of natural light and welcoming clinical spaces designed to support patients, families and staff, this milestone marks another important step in a remarkable project. Congratulations to everyone involved!
2. Winter has arrived in Copenhagen (Denmark)
Winter has made a clear appearance on the Nordhavn Tunnel site, where fresh snow has transformed the works into a crisp white landscape. Despite the cold, progress continues on this 1.4‑kilometre cut‑and‑cover tunnel, including 700 metres beneath the harbour, with the casting of the tunnel elements fully ongoing.
3. Milestone reached at Aramco Stadium (Saudi Arabia)
In Khobar, the BESIX Middle East–Albawani team has reached an important milestone on the Aramco Stadium project. The inner roof ring now stands fully self‑supported following depropping, marking the completion of the stadium’s primary steel structure.
Designed to host around 47,000 spectators, BESIX and Albawani are on track to complete this impressive venue in 2026, right in time for the 2027 Asian Football Confederation Cup.
4. LuxTP advances with medical center in Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
Since September 2024, our colleagues at LuxTP have been working on the structural phase of a new medical centre in Nothum, and the project is moving forward at a steady pace. Earthworks and structural elements are now complete, and the team has entered the finishing phase. Once delivered, the modern facility will bring general practitioners, specialists, physiotherapists, a laboratory and a pharmacy together in one place, improving access to care for people in Nothum and the wider area.
And then this... Art meets construction in Paris (France)
One of the architects working on our Triangle project in Paris has captured the tower in a beautiful painting he made in his free time, and the result is fantastic as you can see below. Located near Expo Porte de Versailles, this striking mixed‑use development will offer premium offices, a 4‑star Radisson Blu hotel, retail spaces and, right at the top, a panoramic viewing deck and restaurant with views over the city. A great and creative way to see the project from a different angle!
