Week of 6 April
1. First steel cut for LNG jetty project (Mozambique)
A key milestone for our LNG jetty project in Mozambique: the first steel has been cut at the ATAD Dong Nai Factory in Vietnam. With fabrication now under way, this major project for TotalEnergies is moving into its next phase. Our teams are responsible for the Mooring Offloading Facility and the LNG jetty, key infrastructure that will enable Mozambique to export LNG worldwide. Once completed, the 4,600‑metre‑long jetty will be able to accommodate the largest LNG carriers.
2. BE Inject contributes to the Oosterweel Link (Belgium)
The Oosterweel Link in Antwerp continues to bring many BESIX entities together, with our Group involved in three of the five sub-projects. Recently, another BESIX entity joined this major mobility project. Franki Foundations’ subsidiary BE Inject is working on the closure joint of the Scheldt Tunnel, the concrete connection that permanently links the final two tunnel elements. After thorough preparation, the team opted for a robust waterproofing solution using the Sikaproof membrane, contributing to the tunnel’s long-term durability and safety. With execution now under way, showing how a BESIX entity is helping to build a more liveable Antwerp.

3. Visit highlights sustainable initiatives at Triangle (France)
Last week, Belgian and French members of ULI had the opportunity to take a closer look at several iconic Parisian projects, including Triangle. Through this peer‑to‑peer learning tour, the visits focused on sustainability and the challenges of decarbonising real estate. Triangle stood out as a strong example of how landmark developments can reinforce a city’s identity, stimulate innovation in construction, and put sustainability centre stage.
Meanwile on site, work is progressing well, with the steel structure for the final four floors currently under construction. Located near the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre, this striking mixed‑use project will combine offices, a four‑star Radisson Blu hotel, retail space, a restaurant and a panoramic viewing deck.
4. First phase delivered for Rabelais project (Belgium)
Wust, together with its partner CIT Blaton, has successfully delivered the first phase of the Rabelais project in Ixelles, Brussels. This milestone forms part of a broader redevelopment of the former Athénée Rabelais site, which will make room for a primary and secondary school, a nursery, a sports hall and housing. Combining renovation with new construction, the project is progressing step by step towards full completion in 2028.
And then this... Vanhout colleagues roll up their sleeves for Spring Clean‑Up (Belgium)
Last Thursday, colleagues from Vanhout took part in a Spring Clean‑Up organised by IOK*. Equipped with litter pickers and bin bags, they headed out to tidy up the area around their office. A simple but concrete action that made an immediate difference to the local environment, and a nice example of team spirit beyond the worksite.
*IOK is the Inter‑municipal Development Agency for the Kempen region in Belgium and is organising this initiative for the eighth time.
