On 31 August, we will welcome Alex Fedanov to BESIX as our new Chief Data & Information Officer, reporting directly to Hans Beerlandt, CFO BESIX Group. He will join the ICT department and work closely with Werner Godaert, Group CIO, and the wider ICT leadership team.
As digital technologies, data and AI become increasingly important to our business, BESIX is strengthening its leadership in these areas. The creation of the Chief Data & Information Officer role directly supports Strategic Priority #3: Embrace Digital and reflects our ambition to further develop the capabilities that support our operations and future growth.
Together, Alex and Werner will help lead the Group's ICT agenda. Alex will primarily focus on data governance and the development of business applications that support our activities across the Group, whilst Werner continues his focus to oversee group applications, technology infrastructure and development, networks and cybersecurity. Both Werner and Alex will participate in joint governance bodies such as the ICT Steerco. This complementary leadership setup will help BESIX further strengthen its digital foundations and accelerate the effective use of data across the organisation.
Alex has already started his onboarding and is working closely with the teams involved in our data governance initiatives.
Alex brings more than 20 years of experience in digital transformation, data strategy and business technology leadership. Most recently, he served as Global Head of IT Business Partnership and Architecture at AGFA-Gevaert, where he led enterprise-wide data initiatives, established data governance frameworks, enabled analytics and AI use cases, and supported business operations across 46 countries.
Before that, he held senior transformation and IT leadership positions at Sibelco and Anheuser-Busch InBev, delivering major programmes across finance, HR, commercial operations and shared services. Throughout his career, he has been recognised for combining strategic thinking with strong execution and for building high-performing teams.
