Watpac: Farewell to Martin Monro & Board Changes

1 min read

Dear Colleagues,

As per my communication in April, this week saw Martin Monro officially step down as Chief Executive Officer of Watpac. His departure comes after seven years of leading the Group as a publicly listed company and working closely with the Board, management team and clients to ensure a solid business.

Martin’s departure and the appointment of new CEO Ben O’Rourke has marked an important point in the transition of Watpac from its place as a publicly listed company to being a part of the wider BESIX Group and, in turn, its next phase of growth.

As such it is pleasing to inform you today that Martin will now join the Watpac Board as a Non-Executive Director. Martin’s appointment aligns with several changes at Board level including the appointment of Pierre Sironval, Managing Director of Six Construct and COO of BESIX Group, and the departure of Chair, Peter Watson.

The name of the new Chair will be communicated in due time.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Peter for his strategic leadership during his time on the Board and take the opportunity to formally welcome Martin and Pierre.

Lastly, please join me in welcoming Ben who will formally commence as CEO on Monday 3 June 2019.

Rik Vandenberghe
