First of all, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Camille Rico as Mobility Coordinator for the BESIX head office in Brussels.
Secondly, we are happy to present you our updated Head Office Mobility Plan which was approved by Brussels-Environment in May 2025. The plan is based on a diagnostic survey carried out in 2024, of which we now also have the results.
Here are some key figures from the Mobility Plan, based on the mobility survey:
- 81% of work commutes are done by car;
- Each employee emits approximately 9.4 kg CO2 per day on their way to work;
- The average distance between home and work is about 28.4 km.
Although coming by car is by far the most popular option to commute to work, there are ample possibilities for green commuting:
- By bicycle: there are many cycling paths surrounding the BESIX headquarters, including three regional cycle paths (ICR C, ICR 2 and Promenade Verte). Or rent one the Villo bicycles in the neighbourghood.
- Public transport: Bus line 79 takes you directly from our headquarters to the Schuman train station, as well as the metro station Roodebeek which is only one kilometre away from our headquarters.
- Teleworking: Since many years, BESIX has a telework policy, which provides practical specificities per department.
More information on the mobility survey and plan can be found on the Mobility page on intanet.
We encourage all staff at BESIX headquarters in Brussels to take part in implementing this policy.
