Update - Situation in the Middle East (Fri. 6 March)

Group 1 min read

Dear colleagues,

As part of our regular communication, we would like to share a brief update and a few words of reassurance.

First and foremost, our people are safe. We continue to take decisions with care and responsibility, guided at all times by our duty of care towards our employees.

With the exception of Sohar, operations and office attendance are continuing largely as planned. The decision to work on site or in the office reflects our belief that maintaining shared routines can provide stability, encourage open dialogue and help colleagues stay connected as a community without compromising on safety.

Local management teams remain attentive and are encouraged to apply flexibility and provide support where circumstances require it. Questions and discussions are also taking place, including around new comers, leave and personal choices. Clear HR guidance is being prepared to help address these topics and ensure consistent answers. In the meantime, colleagues are encouraged to reach out to their manager, a member of the senior leadership team, or the relevant support professionals.

The Group Executive Committee and the Middle East leadership teams continue to monitor developments very closely. Should the situation evolve, we will not hesitate to take additional measures.

Finally, we would like to acknowledge the many messages of solidarity received from colleagues around the world. They are a powerful reminder of the strength, care and unity that define our global BESIX community.
