Dear colleagues,
Thank you to everyone who took part in our “Why Do You Stay?” survey and the follow-up one-to-ones. Your honesty gave us a clear view of what keeps you at BESIX Group, and where we need to step up.
Reminder: who took part?
We invited you and 230 colleagues in critical roles across all business units and regions. Eighty-eight percent responded, and we held 37 in-depth individual sessions. That’s a rich, candid snapshot of our day-to-day reality.
What did we learn?
Your feedback highlighted many strengths that make BESIX unique. You told us that trust, autonomy, and supportive leadership are at the heart of your experience. Many of you feel empowered to take initiative, proud of our brand, and value the sense of belonging within your teams. The opportunity to work on varied, meaningful projects were also cited as major positives. It’s clear that our managers, team spirit, and the fit between people and their roles are key drivers of retention and satisfaction.
Where do we need to improve?
At the same time, you did not hesitate to point out areas where we must do better. Many of you expressed a need for greater clarity and consistency in our strategic vision, and a stronger connection between our stated values and daily operations. At your level you expressed that we need to strive more for excellence in training and career development opportunities. Remaining attentive to connection and information sharing during hybrid work, and recognition for contributions remain ongoing challenges. Some of you also noted that our digital tools and physical workspaces need modernisation to keep pace with your expectations.
What’s next?
Detailed results are gradually being shared in various existing forums (ExCo, OpCo, Synergy Board,…). In parallel, under Strategic Priority 1 “Inspire, invest, & instil an irresistible culture to drive our success”, we’ll tackle the weak points you raised, starting with making our strategy clearer in day-to-day decisions, strengthening internal communication on this topic, and building more structured learning and career paths. You’ll soon see clear owners, timelines, and regular check-ins, and we’ll keep you involved.
Thank you again for your honesty, your ideas, and your commitment to making BESIX Group a better place for all. Together, we will build on our strengths and address our challenges, ensuring BESIX remains a company where people choose to stay, grow, and thrive.
