Visit at the top

Last week, our Executive Vice-Chairman Johan Beerlandt had the pleasure of visiting the Tower observatory in Rabat, Morocco, alongside our client Othman Benjelloun, Chairman of O’Tower. This visit provided them both an opportunity to witness firsthand the remarkable progress being made on the Tower Mohammed VI project.

Finishing work moving ahead

The finishing work on the Tower is moving ahead at an impressive pace. The team is currently focused on ceiling closure, marble flooring, and carpentry works. These final touches will add a touch of elegance and sophistication to this iconic structure.

Preparations for the next milestone

In anticipation of the next milestone visit of both Chairmen scheduled for November, our team is working tirelessly to prepare specific floors within the Tower. These include:

  • Office floors at levels 11 and 12,
  • An apartment floor at level 16,
  • A restaurant at level 33,
  • Hotel rooms at level 36,
  • And temporary finishing works at the viewing deck on level 51.

Each floor is being meticulously designed and curated to create a welcoming experience for visitors.

Mechanical and electrical plants connection

Simultaneously, our MEP teams are connecting the mechanical and electrical plants to their respective networks within the Tower. Once these connections are complete, we will proceed with energizing them and initiating commissioning activities. This critical step will ensure that all systems are functioning optimally before opening the Tower to the public.

Update on earthquake situation

We would like to take a moment to provide an update regarding the recent earthquake in Morocco. Fortunately, no casualties or damages have been reported at our site location. The Tower Mohammed VI has been designed with utmost care and adherence to safety standards, ensuring its resilience against such natural disasters.

As we continue making significant progress on this landmark project in Rabat, we look forward to sharing more updates with you in the coming months. Stay tuned!
