New headquarters for Socogetra's 75th anniversary: BESIX promotes co-creation

Since its creation by Raymond Calozet in 1948 in the village of Awenne, our Socogetra subsidiary has come a long way! Specialising in road construction, earthworks, and civil engineering, Socogetra has grown to become a major player in its sector of activity. In BESIX group since January 2007, Socogetra is today an essential company, thanks to the expertise of its nearly 500 employees and its impressive fleet of machines.

Socogetra is now 75 years old and on this occasion, it has offered itself a new head office in Marche-en-Famenne. This building, which responds to an urgent need for expansion due to the company's growth, has everything to please: it is ultra-functional, conducive to communication, super-comfortable and environmentally friendly, with a durability recognised by the 'BREEAM Excellent' certification.

This certification is ensured in particular by means of high-performance solar-factor glazing, energy-efficient techniques (heat pump, etc.), supplemented by more than a hundred photovoltaic panels. From energy management to biodiversity, including the recovery of waste during construction, the BREEAM evaluation criteria have been the common thread throughout the project.

The exterior of the building is remarkable for its entirely glazed floor, its base clad in local rubble and its basins, whose water mirror contributes to the integration of the building into its environment. And once inside, one can enjoy a spacious and bright space thanks to an abundance of natural light. There is no doubt that our colleagues will feel good in their new head office!

This project gave pride of place to internal co-creation to enhance the know-how present in our group. Several departments were called upon to design this building, in particular for all that is prefabricated concrete, reinforcement and metal framework. The construction work was entrusted to our colleagues from Wust, while those from Socogetra carried out the earthworks and landscaping.

Our colleagues from Socogetra moved a few weeks ago and a very nice inauguration ceremony took place on March 30 in the presence of the Mayor of Marche-en-Famenne André Bouchat and Willy Borsus, Vice-President of Wallonia, Minister of Economy, Foreign Trade, Research and Innovation.

Congratulations to our colleagues from Socogetra for their jubilee. We wish them good luck for their activities in their new place of work!
